South Bowie encourages all students and parents to volunteer their time and give back to the community. Studies have found that volunteering helps you stay physically and mentally healthy. Dedicating your time as a volunteer helps you make new friends, expand your network and boost your social skills.

The Prince George's Health Department seeks volunteers to join the Medical Reserve Corp to train for emergency preparedness. Volunteers may be as young as 12 if accompanied by an adult. Otherwise, volunteers must be 18+.

Clerical work is available for volunteers ages 14-17. Those 18+ can apply to walk dogs and monitor the cat room (a 2 hour orientation is required.) Administrative Hours - Monday, Tuesday, and Friday - 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Wednesday - 11:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Saturday - 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday and Thursday - Closed Kennel Hours - Monday, Tuesday, and Friday - Noon - 6 p.m. Wednesday - 11:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Saturday - 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday and Thursday - Closed.

South Bowie offers many opportunities for adults and children. You do not have to be a member or participating in a sport to volunteer with the Club. We always welcome volunteers for coaches, events, committees, and other opportunities. We offer commmunity service hours for high school students as well. These opportunities are for those registrants who did not pay an opt out fee and agreed to volunteer.

Visit the sports page for information about the sport you would like to coach and to email the Commissioner your interest.
It shall be the duty of the Sport Commissioners to:
- Support the Sport Commissioner as appropriate;
- Adhere to the code of conduct;
- Have an knowledge of the game they are coaching;
- Provide all appropriate paperwork to the registrar to obtain their credentials;
- Take all appropriate training, certifications, and background checks for their sport;
- Ensure an adequate amount of safety equipment is on hand for his/her team;
- Facilitate communication of information or announcements from the Sport Commissioner to the players and parents on their team;
- Provide a fun, safe, and learning environment for our players.

- Email your interest in becoming a Commssioner for one of the sports below. sbbgcexecutiveboard@gmail.com It shall be the duty of the Sport Commissioners to:
- Oversee and Manage their respective sports in accordance within SBBGC By-Laws, SBBGC Policies and Procedures, and PGCBGC rules and regulations;
- Submit their budgets to the Athletic Director as instructed;
- Safe guard SBBGC uniforms and equipment in their possession during their sports
team parents

It shall be the duty of the Team Parent to:
- Support the Sport Commissioner and Coaches as appropriate;
- Adhere to the code of conduct;
- Provide all appropriate paperwork to the registrar to obtain their credentials;
- Take all appropriate training, certifications, and background checks for their sport
- Assist the Coach with disseminating information or announcements from the Sport Commissioner or Coaches to the players and parents of their team;
- Maintain the official listing of players to include contact information; and
- Maintain ID cards for their teams; as needed, and check their teams in prior to the start of their game/match.

- There are no qualifications required!
- Just show up and support! High school students are welcome to volunteer for community service hours.
