- INTRODUCTION Welcome to the South Bowie Boys & Girls Club Cheerleading Program. This program is dedicated to serving our youth ages 5-14. The goal for each season is to teach the fundamentals of cheerleading (motions, jumps, cheers, chants, and stunts), encourage physical fitness, promote teamwork, and develop character. All of our coaches have been vaccinated and are required to complete the American Sports Education Program (ASEP) training and must successfully pass a background check to coach for SBBGC Cheerleading. Team parents are also required to successfully pass a background check. South Bowie Cheerleaders perform sideline cheers during the football season. We also compete in a local competition at the end of our sports season. COMMISSIONER: Coach Miya: cheer@southbowiesharks.org

- Lady Sharks Cheerleading Uniform Policy
- The Lady Sharks are proud to have a long-standing reputation for looking sharp, clean, and professional. To uphold this tradition and maintain our strong team image, we enforce a strict uniform policy that applies to practices, performances, and game days.
- Uniform Guidelines
- 1. Event-Specific Attire:
- • Notifications will be sent in advance to specify the uniform required for each event. It is the cheerleader’s responsibility to stay informed and come prepared.
- • Failure to arrive in the correct, complete uniform will result in the cheerleader not performing—no exceptions.
- 2. Team Unity:
- • As a team, we strive to present a unified image. When one cheerleader is not in full uniform, it impacts the entire team. Pay close attention to notifications and double-check that you are in the correct attire to avoid standing out for the wrong reasons.
- Required Uniforms
- All uniforms must be worn with all-white cheer shoes and all-white ankle socks—no exceptions.
- Cheer Performance Uniform:
- • Cheer uniform top and skirt
- • Gold briefs
- • Gold crop top (under uniform top)
- • Warm Weather: Replace the gold crop top with a royal blue sports bra.

- Cheer Spirit Uniform:

Every cheerleader is responsible for contributing to fundraising efforts, which helps keep registration cost down, finance practice facilities, and other program needs. Fundraising efforts encompass both individual and collective team initiatives.
- **Families who choose not to fundraise will give a $50 donation to the cheer program on behalf of the student athlete.
