- INTRODUCTION Welcome to the South Bowie Boys & Girls Club Cheerleading Program. This program is dedicated to serving our youth ages 5-14.
- We currently have two cheer teams. No Experience Necessary.
- 6U - This is our Baby Sharks Team. A beginners team where you learn the fundamentals of cheer and has a limited amount of spaces.
- 10U - This team is based on skill set and also the age you are by September 1.
- 14U - This team is a more advanced team being coached on a high school level. Cheerleaders who age out from our cheer program are guaranteed to make their high school teams with learning the basic fundamentals of cheer.
- Note: Cheerleaders should consult with their 14U coaches before trying out for their high school teams to receive guidance on whether or not they have met goals needed to tryout while attending the SBBGC Cheer Program.
- The goal for each season is to teach the fundamentals of cheerleading (motions, jumps, cheers, chants, and stunts), encourage physical fitness, promote teamwork, and develop character. All of our coaches have completed the American Sports Education Program (ASEP) training and have successfully passed a background check to coach for SBBGC Cheerleading. Team parents are also required to successfully pass a background check. South Bowie Cheerleaders perform sideline cheers during the football season.
