Prince George's County Boys & Girls Club League

PG County Coach requirements

  • To become a coach for the Prince George's County Boys & Girls Club (PGCBGC), you must pass a background check via NCSI/SportsEngine, complete the Abuse Prevention and Training (APT) course, and pass a sport-specific training certification. Additionally, you must submit a signed Code of Conduct and a photo for an ID badge.
  • Background Check: Complete the required background check through NCSI. ($25)
  • Abuse Prevention and Training (APT): Complete this mandated 2-year certification. ($25)
  • Coaching Certification: Complete the ASEP (American Sport Education Program) training.
  • Code of Conduct & ID: Submit a signed Code of Conduct form and a passport-sized headshot for an official ID badge. PGCBGC Code of Conduct
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
All Coaches and Assistant Coaches MUST have passed a Background Check and APT course and a Sports Specific Coaching Certification and Training Test (including the ASEP or USA Football Test) before they are allowed to coach. Once completed, you will be placed on the PGCBGC official coaches list.
This must be taken care of before your season begins. You will NOT be allowed to coach WITHOUT being placed on PGCBGC official coaches list.
Coaches cannot be on the field or court without being placed on PGCBGC official coaches list.
All players must be on your submitted roster and have an PG County Boys & Girls sanctioned Player ID Card such as:
  • Maryland Issued State ID
  • U.S. Passport
  • Military Dependent ID
Anne Arundel Youth Soccer Association (U8 - U15)

Anne arundel county Coach requirements (U8 - u15)

  • All volunteer coaches for the Anne Arundel Youth Soccer Association league must complete the below requirements. Prior to completing these requirements, prospective volunteers must e-mail their interest and receive approval from the South Bowie Soccer Program commissioner at: soccer@southbowiesharks.org.
  • Pass Volunteer Background Check!
  • Complete the free coaches training on Bullying Prevention, Concussion Training, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Mental Health and Youth Sports, and Protecting Youth Athletes for Coaches
  • Youth Sports Coaches' Code of Conduct
Once complete, you will update your training certificates and code of conduct to your Team Sports Portal profile here.
