WINTER WRESTLING REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
Team Mission Statement Our goal is to introduce the sport of wrestling to your son or daughter, emphasize the basic skills and fundamentals of the sport, while maintaining good sportsmanship and spirit of competition. In addition, we strongly focus on building character, confidence, and a positive attitude among our wrestlers. We believe effort is vital to the success of the program. The wrestler must be willing to sacrifice pride, dignity, and heart for the outcome of the match. The wrestler must be willing to give their all without worrying about the outcome. The technique, strength, quickness, and intelligence will come once the desire to win is achieved. Wrestling is a mental game of confidence and belief in one’s talents. Eligibility Any boy or girl ages 4 year old to 14 years old. League We wrestle in the Southern Maryland Junior Wrestling League. The league is made up of 10 teams from Prince Georges County, Charles County, Calvert County and St Mary’s County. Practices are held at Meadowbrook Elementary 3501 Moylan Dr. Bowie MD 20715, beginning in November. League matches are on Saturdays beginning in January and runs through early March. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COACHING, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A BACKGROUND CHECK DONE AND ATTEND A COACH’S CLINIC THROUGH THE COUNTY. You will need the background check done BEFORE the season starts. We are always in need of coaches!
